YOUR APPLICATION: A CHECKLIST FOR SUCCESS -- Write NEW in the subject line. -- -- Post your entire application under an lj-cut. -- -- Post at least five good quality pictures (not links). At least three of these pictures must be headshots. -- -- Do not post grainy webcam shots, excessively photoshopped pictures, and improperly resized pictures. Any such pictures will not count towards the five required shots. -- -- Do not respond to the votes on your application. Responding to votes is strictly prohibited unless you are asked a question by a maintainer. Any responses to votes will be deleted. Three or more offenses will result in auto-rejection. -- -- NEVER spam this community in any way. We do not require or condone promotion of this community in other communities or personal journals, and we expect you to have that same respect for us by not using our page as a free billboard for your other rating comms. --
STAMPING OF APPLICATIONS -- Usually occurs after two or three days or after the application has received 10+ votes. -- -- May take longer than a few days. Do not harass us about stamping you unless a full two weeks (that means 14 days) have passed since you posted your application and you still have not been stamped. -- -- In order to be accepted, you must have at least 3 more 'yes' votes than 'no' votes. There are no debates or special exceptions regarding this rule. --
AVOID EMBARRASSMENT AND AUTO-REJECTION WITH THESE SIMPLE STEPS -- If your feelings are easily hurt then do NOT apply here. If you give any maintainer or stamped member attitude, you will be banned without warning. -- -- Both MAINTAINERS and MEMBERS reserve the right to request that you post a salute if they have any reason to believe that the pictures you have posted are not actually of you. If any stamped member requests a salute, and you do not provide one, you will not be stamped no matter what the vote count looks like. If you do not know what a salute is, just ask and we will explain it to you. -- -- If you (or any of your friends) are just so offended by this community that you feel the need to spam or harass it in any way, note that you will be banned and reported to the Livejournal abuse team before you can snap your fingers. --
WANT TO INCLUDE AN INTRODUCTION IN YOUR APP? IF SO, READ THE FOLLOWING If you are going to write anything in your application (like a short introduction), be sure that it is spelled and punctuated correctly. LJ does provide a spell check feature--use it. Example of a bad application? You got it. We also don't like to see excessively emotastic applicants. Do NOT post pictures like these.
NO NUDITY. Members of this community can be as young as thirteen. We're not trying to corrupt anyone or get shut down for exposing minors to adult content (LJ abuse can do that).
Guidelines for girls: We're not rating your boobs or your butt, we're rating your face. Body shots of any kind are unnecessary and generally frowned upon in this community. No cleavage, swimsuits, or revealing pajamas. Guidelines for guys: Again, we only want to see your face. No shirtless shots, swim trunks, or any otherwise inappropriate exposure of your body parts.
After you are stamped, partial nudity (such as shots of you in a bathing suit) is acceptable provided that all of the pictures are placed behind an LJ-cut with an explicit warning that there is some nudity.
YOU MAY APPLY TWO TIMES. HERE'S THE SCOOP ON THAT You may apply to this community twice. You must wait at least a full week (7 days) before reapplying and the second application must contain a different set of pictures. Any third attempts will be auto-rejected and result in banishment from the community. I (as well as plenty of the members) have an excellent visual memory; do not think that waiting several months and changing your username will fool me.
BIG RULE NUMERO UNO After you are accepted, comment here with a link to where you were stamped.
NECESSARY GUIDELINES FOR VOTING -- Put your vote (YES or NO...avoid getting creative, please) in the subject line. Your vote will not be counted if you don't. -- -- Voting 'UNDECIDED' is not an option in this community. If you have doubts about an applicant, then the answer is 'NO.' -- -- If you are going to change your vote, DELETE the original vote and make a new one. Do not comment on your original vote. If you do not follow this rule, your vote will not be counted. -- -- Do not vote on poor quality pictures. There is no way to accurately vote 'yes' on them. Poor quality includes pictures which are: grainy, blurry, highly photoshopped, high contrast (if you can't see the applicant's nose, the picture cannot be voted on), objects covering the face (this includes the applicant's hand), etc. --
WE ARE A PEACE-LOVING COMMUNITY; WE EXPECT OUR MEMBERS TO UPHOLD THAT. Do not post inappropriate content here. If you do, consequences range from warning to suspension of voting/posting privileges to immediate banishment as determined by the maintainers based on the severity of the offense. Inappropriate content basically covers anything that could easily offend someone and anything that could get you arrested if you were caught doing it in real life. If you have any issues with anyone or anything, leave them at your personal journal. This is not a community for hating or belittling individual people, groups of people, practices, political parties, personal preferences, et cetera, et cetera...you get the idea. You may contact __moksha at her personal journal if you have any questions regarding this.
SPAMMING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. As stated in the applicant rules, we do not require or approve of spamming. Since we do not ask you to spam other communities or personal journals for us, we expect you not to do it to us on behalf of others. If you are a stamped member and you break this rule, you will get two warnings. If you spam a third time, you will be banned and reported to LJ Abuse. Unstamped offenders will immediately be banned and reported to LJ Abuse.
RACIST, SEXIST, PREJUDICED, HOMOPHOBIC, ETC. REMARKS ARE NOT TOLERATED HERE. I feel like I am repeating myself, but in the past, some people have missed that such comments constitute 'inappropriate content.' I want to make myself crystal clear: warning/banning will happen at the discretion of the maintainers. This means that if we want to ban you for your first offense, we can do that. There is no 'three strikes, you're out' policy for this rule. Consider this statement your first and only 'warning' when it comes to hateful/prejudiced remarks.
IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE AND BE TAKEN OFF THE MEMBERS LIST, COMMENT HERE. Otherwise, just leave quietly and we'll get around to taking you off the member list during activity checks. Do not make a post to this community. It will be deleted and you'll stay on the members list because I am spiteful.
